The HUB Los Angeles dedicates itself to helping emerging professionals to transition from the inner world of academia to the outer world of practice. With the hopes of catalyzing the exchange of ideas, the HUB seeks to create a lifework environment for people who are interested in becoming a collaborative consortium. The open floor plan and limited use of dividing walls encourages collaboration within the several office/work spaces; along with a few individual spaces. Also included is a large Lecture Hall, Library, Café, Gallery, Lounging and Play spaces for the more active, along with a large Wood/Metal Shop. The top floor is dedicated for the more engaged users as it offers small living quarters with large shared balcony spaces. The spaces within the HUB revolve around two cores called the Co-Work and the Co-Live. The spaces surrounding the dual core inspire people to think, share, make, play, and live with each other in creative ways
